Reverend Vincent Dial

Reverend Vincent Dial is a minister at Bethel Christian Church in Jonesborough, Tennessee since he retired from the Johnson City School System. He is a strong advocate for the youth of Washington County, Tennessee and works to bring positive change to our community through his social justice ministry and community engagement.

After graduating from Carson-Newman University, Reverend Dial played in the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs. After retiring from the NFL, Reverend Dial worked to establish the band program at Liberty Bell Middle School and then at Indian Trail Middle School. There, he taught scores of students how to overcome their fears, face a challenge, and to succeed.

After establishing the band program in the city school’s middle schools, he became the assistant principal at Science Hill High School and then the principal at Northside Elementary School. There, he continued to challenge and inspire students to achieve their full potential. He retired from the Johnson City School System in 2007.

In 1997, Reverend Dial was part of a team that established the UMOJA festival in Johnson City, Tennessee; this was a revival of the Unity Picnic that began in 1978. The UMOJA festival’s focus is on unity and is a way to bring community organizations and community members together.

Currently, Reverend Dial serves as the minister at Bethel Christian Church and he serves as the Chaplain for the Science Hill High School football program. He has spoken and performed at a variety of community events, including Moms Demand Action Wear Orange Day in the summer of 2017.

Reverend Dial is an asset to our community and has spent decades working to create positive change by inspiring generations of youth as well as using his platform to promote social justice and community.

    I ran across yours photo on the Demo website and wanted to say hi. Glad things are doing well.

    I am interested in the Safety On program that promotes gun safety and responsible ownership.
