May 1, 20250

The Tennessee Democratic Party (TNDP) and the Washington County Democratic Party (WCDP) proudly announce that the TNDP State Executive Committee (EC) will hold its next meeting in Johnson City, marking the first time this key statewide gathering has been held outside Nashville. The meeting will occur at the DoubleTree Hotel in Johnson City on Saturday, May 3rd, at 1 pm. and is open to the public.

TNDP selected Johnson City in recognition of the exceptional efforts of WCDP, which has been named the 2024 recipient of the “One to Watch Award.” This prestigious annual award honors a county Democratic party with outstanding commitment, organization, and innovation in supporting Democratic values in our state.

“We are thrilled to bring our State Executive Committee meeting to Johnson City to celebrate the tremendous work of the Washington County Democratic Party,” said Rachel Campbell, Chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party. “WCDP exemplifies dedication, resilience, and creativity. They have set a new standard for county parties across Tennessee, and we look forward to honoring their efforts in person.”

Coinciding with the EC meeting, WCDP will host its annual fundraising gala, the State of Franklin Dinner, later that evening at the Carnegie Hotel. The event, now completely sold out, will begin at 5 p.m. and promises to be a festive celebration of local Democratic activism and community engagement.

Sylvain Bruni, Chair of the Washington County Democratic Party, stated, “We are honored that TNDP chose Johnson City for this historic occasion. This recognition energizes us as we continue building momentum in Washington County. Our volunteers and supporters have worked tirelessly, and we are excited to showcase our community’s passion and dedication to Democratic values.”

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the EC meeting and witness democracy in action as TNDP leaders discuss party strategies and upcoming initiatives.
