Democrats to select their candidates for Johnson City Commission and Washington County Commission (District 9) for the November 5 election
The Washington County Democratic Party (WCDP) is excited to announce it will hold a County Democratic Caucus on Saturday, August 10, starting at 10 am at the Recreation Center located in Carver Park. During this important event, Democrats will be selecting their candidates for the Johnson City Commission and the Washington County Commission District 9 positions to be voted on in November.
“We are excited to organize this Caucus, which will mark the launch of our Democratic campaigns toward November,” said WCDP Chair Sylvain Bruni. “A caucus is a formidable event to engage with voters directly and foster community and conversation across the county.”
All registered voters in Washington County who identify as Democrats may participate in this event. Interested candidates must reside in the district covered by the position they seek to run for and must declare themselves to WCDP by 8 pm on August 1 through a form available at https://wctndp.org/caucus. Voters seeking to participate in the Caucus may also pre-credential themselves at the same link to save time on Caucus day.
Caucusing to select candidates is a unique occasion to connect with fellow Democrats, discuss important local issues, and participate in the democratic process. Breakfast will be provided to all attendees. Following the Caucus, participants will be encouraged to stay and join us in celebrating Emancipation Day at the Carver Recreation Center. This is a meaningful day of remembrance and celebration, and WCDP looks forward to commemorating it with our community.
