Former Gov. Phil Bredesen began to call supporters earlier this week to let them know he’s running for the U.S. Senate.
Bredesen, 74, will announce Thursday that he’ll campaign for the seat being vacated by Republican Bob Corker. The decision will set up a possible blockbuster race in 2018 against U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., who represents parts of Maury County and southern Middle Tennessee.
